Karine Wiechert lives mostly on the island of Skyros in the Aegean Sporades archipelago in Greece. Karine chose to live there and to receive guests in her small pension throughout the summer. Surely we have all dreamed of doing the same at some time. This is back to an earlier age without air conditioning or wi-fi… On an island relatively free of tourists except in August when the Greeks come for their annual vacation by the ferry. Secret beaches, authentic crafts, little development, wild horses, hiking trails, small taverns … and time suddenly slows down. Perhaps we should keep this paradise away of the public gaze otherwise the paradise will become too busy….

Karine returns to Switzerland for the winter; from time to time she comes to see us so we get a some details about life in the pension and Skyros island with regard to hiking, swimming and the small restaurants.
