Who does not know of the world of Wilfred Thesiger, Ella Maillard or other writers, and not felt the call of this uncompromising and precarious world? Its disturbing silence, its life that sometimes surfaces at nightfall, its persistent but sparse flora often in unexpected places… The Sultanate of Oman is not only the famous desert, other places and other geologies also fascinate — its spectacular coast, its mountain ranges reaching 3,000 metres and its rocky walls worthy, for some, of the North Face of the Eiger, or, of course, the south-west turning green with the Khareef — the Omani monsoon. A more open Islam and an enlightened Sultan allows Oman to find a special place among the Gulf countries for us in the West.

Whether you are rather fond of a comfortable bed rather than the Spartan charm of a camp, Oman will open its doors to you, some hidden, and transport you to a timeless world.
In this presentation, we describe this southern Arabian country, its geographical particularities, its myriad possibilities and our personal favourites.

Biography of George Sandford & Emmanuel Samatani

Both graduate biologists, A Taste of Travel is a synthesis of both their life and professional experiences. We try to find workable solutions for the unfair globalized tourism format that we have at present. Another goal is to give real world experiences that are worth saving for the future.
