Mascarenes: Réunion, Mauritius, Rodrigues – From the Pitons to the Lagoons

In the Mascarene Islands

Three pearls in the southern Indian Ocean

Situated at the southern end of the Indian Ocean there are a few islands that are close geographically, each with such different characters. First of all, Réunion Island, politically French territory with multiple cultural influences, it offers a very volcanic landscape – out of the ordinary with fantastic possibilities for walks and hikes around the famous Pitons culminating at 3,070 metres of altitude! Further east, Mauritius, a former British colony, with its superb coast offers many activities (beach, water sports, diving, snorkelling), there are the well-known tourist parts but also wilder parts such as the south coast. Finally the island of Rodrigues even further east, which has retained its authenticity and offers some of the most beautiful lagoons in the world. What could be better than to combine them during an exceptional trip.

Ecuador, a concentrate of South America!

In Ecuador

Alternate altitudes and admire multiple, highly contrasted natural wonders

Ecuador does of course have a pre-Columbian history worthy of interest, as well as colonial cities with undeniable charm, such as Quito or Cuenca, but it has other unsuspected treasures. Imagine that in a few hundred kilometres you can pass from the Amazonian forest to the Pacific coast at the foot of the mythical Cotopaxi volcano and its almost 6,000 metres high! And we haven’t talked about the Galapagos Islands yet… Did you say treasures?

Oman – a country of deserts

In Oman

Explore mountains, beaches, deserts and enjoy the exotic spices of this amazing cultural crossroads

The Sultanate of Oman is exceptional in more than one way in this region of the world. The Omanis welcome you to their tradional world which is now slowly opening. The spectacular geography of their country takes you from the remote Empty Quarter to the mountain ranges — some exceeding 3,000 metres — via superb and empty coasts. A history flavoured by the multiple cultures of Zanzibar, Iran, and India. All this makes Oman a country apart and to be explored in detail by those who are fascinated by the world of Philby, Thomas, Thesiger, and Morris.
