Following the Tracks of the Tiger in Kerala

In collaboration with a local tour operator A Taste of Travel have created a special itinerary that is truly sustainable. From the coastal plains to the wonders of the Western Ghats with its extraordinary biodiversity, this itinerary gives you a incomparable view of Kerala and its culture. On your arrival you will be steeped in the earliest European historical contact with this ancient civilization; Fort Cochin was one of the earliest contact points with the West. From Kochi you are transported to one of the National Parks where you are immersed in the forested mountains of the Western Ghats – tribal home to the guards who will accompany you on forest walks. You have the chance to see large mammals such as the Asiatic elephant, the leopard and, of course, the tiger as well as a huge diversity of birds. On returning to the plains you cruise overnight on a houseboat on the Keralan Backwaters. This itinerary ends with a few days of relaxation on the beach to enjoy the benefits Ayurvedic treatments. The best of Keralan culture, history, nature, human relations and philosophy is all here for you to discover.
