We, at A Taste of Travel, have known Laurent for several years and our paths have crossed on subjects of sustainable development for the most part. It turned out that Laurent has many other areas of interest… A passion for percussion, later for dance and finally for Cuba. Passions he has brought together within the structure of Venga, with which we collaborate. See Cuba through the eyes of Laurent — a different and very unusual way to see this destination!

A Taste of Travel invites you to explore his vision of Cuba — the incredible rhythm of the music such as Salsa, Rumba, Son… and dance movements. Laurent’s Cuba is to be enjoyed whether or not you’re a musician or a dancer; he suggests local guides to see the neighbourhoods of Havana on foot and to share a meal with the people, an evening out in search of an impromptu concert, then to take the road to soak up the flavour of Viñales, Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Matanzas. Is there anything better than to embrace this country of deep wealth to the rhythm of music? Get deep into the Cuban culture and the country.

Biography of Laurent Cuénoud

As a young musician, Laurent Cuénoud experimented with the flute, the piano, the trumpet and the saxophone, leading him to his musical home in jazz. A trip to Burkina Faso revealed the magic of African drumming. This translated quickly into the charm of Cuban salsa, he then learned to play the congas and founded the group Nolosé in 2004. A lover of dance, Laurent soon learnt the Puerto Rican and Cuban salsas. He found his way to Havana to expand his knowledge of the music and dance of Cuba. In 2016, Laurent founded Venga to offer tailor-made trips to Cuba. Thanks to his in-depth knowledge of the island and its people, he brings a total immersion in Cuban music, dance and culture.
