A wonderful walk in search of times gone by
Instead of A Taste of Travel, we should say “A Passion for Travel”! In any case I experienced that on Sunday when I lost track of time in a splendid way. The walk (Zinal, Pointe d’Ar Pitetta, and then a descent down into the valley towards the river Navizence) is a rough climb but that is quickly forgotten facing the Weisshorn, a little misty in the distance, the Roc de la Vache and the Zinal Rothorn. With the explanations of Eric, a young geologist, a passionate and captivating speaker, we were introduced to the History of the World, its periods of upheaval, and the visible folded strata polished by the elements. My eyes have been opened by what I saw today resulting in a new appreciation of geology. It was a walk that fulfilled its promises presented by Emmanuel and George in a pleasant and enjoyable format. When will be next in this series?
