Two sides of Mexico and two different faces of Mexico with the same spirit. On the Pacific side, we present an ecotourism coffee farm project guided by the French coffee wholesalers Malongo and a Chayotepec community of ethnic Zapotec, owned and operated by the UCIRI co-operative (Unión de Comunidades Indígenas de la Región del Istmo). On the Caribbean coast, Richard Capitanio evokes guides tourists through an ecotourism project in the Yucatan Peninsula. After growing up on the Vaud Riviera, during his first trip, in 1996, to this magnificent land he was bewitched by this tropical wonderland. The local people call the area Sian Ka’an – gift of the sky and its is a true gift – it is an UNESCO Biosphere with a remarkable combination of forest, coastal and wetland ecosystems bordering that Caribbean sea. Richard now takes visitors to see the the area and the park to experience a small measure of what he has been living with for the past 15 years.

The talk will be approximately one hour. Any questions will be welcome.
